Your first projection

What do I need before I start?

Rough numbers are enough for a first look: ages, yearly work income and planned retirement age, account balances (RRSP/RRIF, TFSA and non-registered), any workplace pension, and what your household spends in a year after tax.

For a more exact plan, add your CPP or QPP estimate at 65 from your pension statement, and your RRSP and TFSA room from current records. Until you add them, the planner uses estimates and says so.

What is the fastest way to a first result?

Use the free calculator. It needs no account. One or two people. Basic income, savings, pensions, CPP/QPP and OAS. No property, debts, corporations, children or LIRA/LIF.

Enter your details, review and accept the assumptions, then calculate. You get a year-by-year projection and can compare one change, such as a later retirement age or a different spending level.

To keep it, choose Save, sign in, review the inputs and save them to your plans. The planner recalculates them and keeps those basic results with your account.

How do I build a full plan in my account?

Create an account, verify your email, then choose Create your first household. Four short steps cover your household, income and pensions, savings, and spending. You can add property, debts and other details later in Inputs.

Your plan opens on Overview. On the free plan, Overview shows the value your plan found so far; a yearly plan opens the full results.

What does a useful first projection show?

With full results, Overview shows whether spending is covered every year of the plan, and if not, the first year it falls short. A monthly spending figure your savings could support under your assumptions. Where income comes from in your first retired year. One suggested next step, such as fixing a missing input or trying an alternative.

What should I do after my first projection?

Check the inputs it flags as missing or estimated, then try one change: retire a year or two later, adjust spending, or start CPP and OAS at a different age. Copy the plan to keep your original and compare the two side by side.

Can I see an example first?

Yes. The sample shows a made-up Ontario couple, Dan and Rita, with two saved plans: retiring at 63 and retiring at 67. No account is needed.

What the planner does and does not do

What does Glacier Planner calculate?

A year-by-year Canadian retirement projection: savings, work and pension income, CPP/QPP, OAS and its clawback, federal and provincial income tax, withdrawals from each account, and what could be left after tax. A rules-based engine calculates every number; it is not generated by an AI model.

How projections work ↗

Is this financial advice?

No. Glacier Planner provides projections and education, not personalized investment advice. It never holds, moves or invests money. Results depend on your inputs and on assumptions about returns, inflation and future rules, so actual results will differ.

What is not covered?

A few uncommon situations are not covered yet, and the free calculator has a narrower scope than a saved plan. The assumptions attached to every run list the conventions used and any remaining limitations. Confirm balances, pension amounts and contribution room against current statements before relying on a plan.

Can we plan as a couple?

Yes. One household holds one or two people, each with their own income, pensions, CPP/QPP, OAS and accounts, and the projection shows the household year by year.

Can I use it from my own AI assistant?

Yes, with a compatible assistant. The assistant sends your explicit inputs and the Glacier engine returns the numbers. Saved plans need you to sign in and approve the connection, and you can revoke it in Account.

Plans and billing

What is free?

Build your whole plan: income, pensions, accounts, property and spending.

First calculator projection: basic year-by-year results and one explicit what-if.

Save that calculator baseline with its free basic results; advanced analyses and other saved-plan results have separate access.

One household, with your baseline and one alternative.

Export your plan inputs any time.

What do the yearly plans cost?

One plan: $200 CAD a year. Your full results, once a year.

Plan + 10 updates: $300 CAD a year. For a plan you will adjust during the year.

Unlimited: $400 CAD a year. Change and compare as often as you like.

An update means seeing new results after you change your plan. Building and editing never count, and the count resets each year.

Compare plans ↗

How do renewal and cancellation work?

A yearly plan is paid in advance through Stripe and renews automatically each year. Cancel any time from Account; you keep your plan until the end of the year you paid for.

What if it is not worth it to me?

Satisfaction guarantee. If you are not happy within 7 days, or your plan does not find at least what it costs, you get every dollar back. Ask within 7 days of buying or renewing, or at any time in that year if your plan found less than it cost. When a payment is refunded, paid access ends right away.

My verification or reset link does not work.

Links expire and work once. Go to sign in and ask for a new link; the plan you picked is kept.

Can I take my plan with me?

Yes. Export your saved plan inputs as a file at any time from Plan options. Yearly plans add annual CSV exports and reports. Workspace owners can download an archive of saved records from Account.

How do I delete my account?

From Account, at any time. An active subscription is cancelled first. Minimal payment records may remain so payments can be reconciled.

Your data and privacy ↗

Privacy

Is my financial information used for ads or AI training?

No. Your information is used only to run your plan. Glacier Planner does not sell personal information, never uses your plan or financial information for advertising and does not use it to train AI models. Ad measurement on public pages never sends plan numbers, your name or your email.

Getting help

How do I reach support?

Email marc@glacierfinancial.ca. Include the email address on your account, and leave plan numbers out unless we ask. Support helps with using the planner, your account, billing, refunds and data requests.

Can support tell me what to do with my money?

No. Support can explain how the planner works and what a figure means in the model. It cannot recommend what you should do with your money or investments.
